Gympie Special Olympics team (with Sponsors) for their trip to Townsville - pictured are representatives from Education Queensland , Gympie Flight Centre & Disability Services Qld. Other sponsors were - Gympie Apex Club , Deb-A-Leen Screeprinting and Embroidery and Gympie MacDonalds.
The Special O message was well and truly spread in the North and many interested people collected contact names and numbers - so we hope that in the future, Townsville might also become a far North Queensland Special Olympics Region.

Special Olympics knows no boundaries. Chris Kassulke from the Gold Coast region donned a Gympie shirt at the Ten Pin Carnival. Gold Coast region are investigating!!!!!!!

A very strong field assembled in Gympie for the Ten Pin Carnival on July 24, 2005. Gympie expresses thanks to all regions who competed and it was particularly exciting to see Bundaberg compete for the first time as Queensland's newest region.

Georgina Lewis (Network 10 Weather Presenter) has honoured Special Olympics by accepting the position of Ambassador for the Special Olympics VIII National Games being held on the Gold Coast (and also at Chandler in Brisbane) during the first week of October 2006. Georgina is always keen to meet as many athletes as possible. So don't be shy about saying "Hi", if you see Georgie around.
